McMaster physicist Kari Dalnoki-Veress has been named co-recipient of the Brockhouse Medal for his contributions to physics in Canada, an honour he shares with his frequent collaborator – and one of his closest friends - James Forrest of the University of Waterloo.

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the 2011 CAP/DCMMP Brockhouse Medal is awarded to Prof. Bruce D. Gaulin, McMaster University, for his internationally recognized contributions to the field of collective phenomena in magnetic, superconducting and structural systems using X-ray and neutron scattering techniques.

 Kari Dalnoki-Veress
McMaster physicist Kari Dalnoki-Veress has been named co-recipient of the Brockhouse Medal for his contributions to physics in Canada, an honour he shares with his frequent collaborator – and one of his closest friends - James Forrest of the University of Waterloo.

Kari Dalnoki-Veress, an expert in 'the physics of soft squishy things', has been named co-recipient of the Brockhouse Medal. The award, named after celebrated McMaster researcher and Nobel laureate Bertram Brockhouse, recognizes outstanding contributions to physics.
The medal is to be awarded by the by the Canadian Association of Physicists on the recommendation of a selection committee established by the Division of Condensed Matter and Materials Physics.

2011 Winner: Dr. Yurij Mozharivskyj, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and Member of the Brockhouse Institute for Materials Research McMaster University will receive the 2011 Margaret C. Etter Early Career Award from the American Crystallographic Association for his achievements.

 The Margaret C. Etter Early Career Award is to recognize outstanding achievement and exceptional potential in crystallographic research demonstrated by a scientist at an early stage of their independent career.
